Tin Can

THEATRE

Drama, LGBTQIA+, Storytelling

"TIN CAN," written by Lexie May and co-created by Poppy Skipper, explores intense personal and social issues within the confines of a train journey. Directed with sound and lighting by Hanna Ogawa, the play features characters dealing with themes of death, mental and physical illness, and social problems. As the actors and audience share the train setting, they witness conflicts, heartfelt conversations, and dark humor, all while reflecting on their own lives and interactions. With content warnings for coarse language and overwhelming soundscapes, the play dives deep into human emotions and societal observations, culminating in powerful scenes that highlight the raw and unfiltered nature of daily life and personal struggles.

DANCE + PHYSICAL THEATRE

Drama, Storytelling, Sci-Fi

The fear of the unknown is an ancient and all-consuming power, a beast that causes chaos in this beautiful world. The duality of the human condition battles to both destroy and protect its sanity, something that can so easily shatter when faced with conflict.

Fickle social structures, prior prejudice and naivety threaten the future. Maybe embracing the beauty of change found in the unknown can lessen the chaos.
